Bergskaap is a coaching academy. It is also something harder to name.
We are a crew of people who believe the mountains are worth taking seriously, and that the discomfort of going into them is the point, not the problem.
We celebrate the everyday athlete as much as the podium finisher. We know ultra endurance is won or lost in the mind long before the legs give out. That shared understanding holds this crew together. Not just the racing. The curiosity that makes someone choose a hard thing when an easier one was available.
When you join Bergskaap, you get more than a training plan. You join people who know what your race means to you and who will be there on the hard weeks, the big mountain days and the start line when it counts.
The Miler Stripes
Some caps you buy. Some you earn. This one you make.
Within 24 hours of finishing a 100-miler, you sew your own stripe on by hand. Alone. No ceremony. Just you, a needle and thread and everything the mountain asked of you still sitting in your body.
Each stripe is a different colour. Each colour is a different race.
When you see a Miler Cap across a room, you already know everything you need to know about the person wearing it.
The cap is our gift to you, something to hold while the journey settles, and a mark to carry it forward.
The standing record is eight stripes.
Earn yours, the hard way, the only way.
